In the shadows of Blastforce
I have to say, it get’s quite difficult to think of witty titles every time I go to post something. Anyway. I’ve been working on Blastforce some. *gasp* I’ve tweaked up the shadow system and it’s definitely nothing special, but does the job! When I decide I need a little break from SME this is the other project I’ll be investing my time into. I’m thinking of possibly leaning towards a stat system, in which you can upgrade your weapons and your attributes but will have to have a think about that. I really want to make it nice and atmospheric with lots of interesting content and variety. This is the new area in which you will basically start. I won’t give to much away, but I want to try and incorporate some more surreal game play elements and not just the typical run and shoot. A few puzzle elements, but nothing too complicated or frustrating to complete. …hopefully!

SME Progress
I should probably do a little updating over this side of town as well. The ol progress is ticking along on the new super mission extreme. Here’s a few screen’s to check out in the mean time. I should have someone new lined up to do the soundtrack for it since Nimn One can’t anymore, which is a shame.

I like the new design, looks a lot cleaner and more sophisticated without all the unnecessary stuff. I’ll be sure to post anything interesting here anyway. Be sure to check out misdsgrt for some updates of some other cool projects in the works.
New AND Improved
New
and improved? Perhaps? I think basically from now on I’ll be posting all of my projects on supermissionextreme.com and just posting the games or collaborations on here. Why you ask? I’m not entirely sure, because I’m going for something a little more original this time around? And at least I don’t have as many constraints in the design side over at blogspot.com either. So be sure to drop in and check it out, I’ll probably be putting up a demo of both Blastforce AND Super Mission Extreme some time in the near future. Thanks guys.
Super Mission Extreme
Now has a new home. Check it out here. It’s basically where I’ll be spending the majority of my time now a days, so if your wondering why it’s a bit scarce around these parts you will know where to find me!
New Mission Extreme
I’ve currently been working on the new ME, which doesn’t look like it’s going to be coming to Flash any time soon, if at all unfortunately. But that’s not a bad thing, at least I can work at my own pace and actually get it looking exactly how I want it. Nothing to exciting, just a few screen shots of the new area. I’m going to work on cramming as much detail in as possible, this will be the opening stage so I want it to be as bad ass as possible. I haven’t decided on a new name for it yet, but I know it’s going to be about 3 times as long as the original. I want to put in co-operative play as well, but will have to wait and see about that also.

Sword of Legends Demo
I finally got around to uploading the SoL demo that we sent into IGF. We got some relatively good feedback by the way and we knew it basically just needed more content. The engine is pretty much complete, but the demo only really shows off a very small portion of it. It’s still currently on a permanent hold. Working seems to get in the way of doing the things you enjoy now days. You can check out more information at the official website.
Action/RPG/Platformer with emphasis on exploration and hack & slash gameplay.
More Stages D:
A preview of a new stage that is in the works for Mission Extreme. It’ll probably include an extra 2-3 areas I’d say at this point, with about 15-20 stages including a boss battle at the end of every area. I’ve got about 3 bosses already drawn up and ready to go, but still a lot of work ahead. All the graphics are going to be revamped and a large majority of the stages will be improved with twice as many enemy’s too! The flash version is definatley in the works, but I’ve also been conjuring up ideas for a similar creation…
No such luck.
A belated Happy New Year and Merry X-Mas.
Unfortunately SOL didn’t get a mention in this years IGF, but with over 300 entries and only 20 finalists it’s no surprise really. Nothing like a little bit more exposure to hopefully get a few more people interested in it! Myself and Phubans are still going to continue work Sword of Legends also. I’ve thrown in a few more enemy’s into the secret project and the total now comes to 13, not including a sub-boss and a boss. The more variety in enemy’s the better! I’ve got a storyline planned out as well, I just have to weave it into the game still and then work on the environments.

Light’s out!
I’ve been working on the lighting for this little project of mine. I mean, what is a horror game without some nice atmospheric lighting? Oh, and a team mate to aid you in your journey! I still haven’t decided on which one I’m going to use…I figured complete darkness was a bit over kill, but the other one seemed a bit to light.

What do you think?
Super Secret
Enough rambling and more screenshots, right? An exploration shooter, which is basically what has spawned from Blastforce. It’s still a pretty early WIP as you can tell from the screens, but I’m focusing on the atmosphere for this one. Survival horror, or at least a decent attempt at it. I still might finish BF though, one day. It’s nearly Christmas, too damn busy to do much at the moment unfortunately!
